Meet Dr. Laila Marouf
For Dr. Laila Marouf, life has been full of twists and turns. She grew up dreaming of a career in medicine, went on to study computer science — then veered in a new direction, gaining a PhD in information science with a focus on knowledge management and embarking on a long and successful career as a professor, researcher, consultant, and academic leader.
Now, Dr. Marouf is embarking on a new adventure as the founder and Chief Knowledge Officer of the Knowledge Mindfulness Group, a pioneering organization dedicated to evolving and elevating leaders’ knowledge maturity using the groundbreaking integrative methodology of Knowledge Mindfulness.
“When I look back on my journey, what strikes me is how each step prepared me for what came next — even though what came next was completely unexpected,” Dr. Marouf says. “By joining the dots between academic research, business leadership, teaching, learning, and my own rational yet intuitive nature, I’ve been able to lead a richer, more impactful, and immeasurably more fulfilling life.”
Dr. Marouf is an integrative thinker with an insatiable curiosity and a deep commitment to tracing connections — between disciplines, between cultures, and between generations. After reimagining her career and seeking new challenges as an author and entrepreneur, Dr. Marouf is now on a mission to connect, empower, and inspire other leaders around the world.
“I’m inviting others to celebrate the connections in their own lives — between logic and intuition, creativity and innovation — in order to find their own path to a better kind of leadership,” Dr. Marouf explains. “By evolving toward knowledge maturity, leaders can achieve incredible success in all the areas that matter to them — from building amazing businesses and positively impacting the world, to finding peace and fulfillment in their personal lives.”
Dr. Marouf lives in Kuwait with her husband, and is the proud mother of two grown children.
